How many of you have traveled by yourself, I don’t mean with a tour group but completely on your own? Well I just did and it’s not the first time either! No, I am not crazy, a loner nor do I have a death wish. I just wanted to go on a trip and go exactly where I wanted to go, see exactly what I wanted to see and I didn’t want to wait till I found someone that wanted exactly the same thing.
I cannot believe how many people were shocked and concerned when I told them of my intentions or how many people I met along the way that were amazed that I was traveling alone, why? There is no rule that says we cannot explore the world on our own. Yes if I had a partner that was interested in sharing this experience that might have been great, but just because I didn’t should not mean I had to postpone a trip that I had been planning for so long. I started my trip by flying into Paris and then onto Rome and worked by way back up to Paris, all the while exploring Italy. The easiest way to describe it, Bellissima!
I learned many things on my trip I would like to share with you. I think you might have a better understanding of why I did it, after you read my next few posts. My trip was filled with many amazing, once in a lifetime moments along with many stressful and frustrating ones as well. Life is messy and no matter where we are and what we are doing or who we are doing it with, there will be obstacles to overcome. From first-hand experience I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. “It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it” Lena Horne
